About the project:

Polish peacekeeping mission in the eastern part of the Republic of Chad, close to the border of the Sudanese province of Darfur, 2008.

Polish troops, as part of the European Union Force EUFOR, protected refugee camps and the UN humanitarian mission workers in war-torn Chad. There were almost 250 000 refugees after politically and ethnically motivated genocide in bordering Sudanese province of Darfur, where Janjaweed („evil men on horseback”), Arab mounted militia, murdered 200 000-400 000 people of black tribes.
